The Villages of Lonsdale Offers Senior Wellness Programs to the Lonsdale Community

To help educate the Lonsdale community about the wellness programs they provide, The Villages of Lonsdale invites members of the community to attend an Open House Event on Thursday, October 12th from 2:00 – 4:30 PM. According to Marilyn Pint, Executive Director of the Villages of Lonsdale, “We are sponsoring this Open House event so that the citizens of Lonsdale and the surrounding communities can come in and visit our classes and learn about our LEAP Program. Our residents are exposed to these healthy options on a daily basis, but we want to make sure that the broader community knows that we are providing FREE senior fitness classes and healthy nutritious meals at affordable prices for all members of the Lonsdale community. “

In April of 2016, The Villages of Lonsdale teamed up with a local senior fitness organization, Live 2 B Healthy®, in a collaborative effort to offer free senior fitness classes to residents of the local Lonsdale Community. Live 2 B Healthy® conducts group senior fitness classes taught by Certified Personal Trainers who are experienced in working with seniors of all ability levels.

The classes are designed to regain and rebuild balance, strength & flexibility, as well as provide fun social opportunities to seniors. Live 2 B Healthy® provides ongoing assessments and reports to community management and class participants so that they can continue to improve their fitness levels. If you are a Lonsdale area senior interested in improving the quality of your later years, please consider visiting The Villages of Lonsdale and checking out their Live 2 B Healthy® fitness classes. Classes meet Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 10:45 – 11:30am. Classes are provided free to the residents and seniors from the surrounding community as a service of The Villages of Lonsdale. All ability levels are welcome!

In addition to senior fitness classes, The Villages of Lonsdale also offers the LEAP Program to area seniors. LEAP (Lunch Education Activities Program) provides a healthy and nutritious lunch every Monday – Friday. Local seniors are always invited to attend a FREE senior fitness class, and then follow up class with a nutritious balance lunch for only $3.75. Reservations are requested and can be made by calling 507.744.3452.
